A silk merchant, who traded fake
currency notes, along with the silk fabric has been arrested by the central
crime branch in the city. The arrested has been identified as D.A Gangadhar. Gangadhar has been accused of receiving fake money from one of
his contacts in Malda, West Bengal.

Chickpet tipped off the police who laid a trap for Gangadhar. On interrogation
the accused has revealed that under pressure of repaying huge debts, he had
come to an understanding with the contact in malda, to circulate fake notes,
who would in turn repay all of gangadhar’s debts.
Gangadhar
has confessed to the crime and revealed that he had received the courier four
times, containing fake notes concealed in silk fabric.
